About the title
1969. A group of disparate strangers checks in for the night at the once-popular El Royale hotel, straddling the border of Nevada and California. Gathered under its roof are an unfriendly priest, a singer named Darlene, an energetic vacuum-cleaner salesman, and a suspicious young woman from the South. A young concierge spends the night there with them. Each of them has something to hide, and each will get a chance to atone for past sins. But things only get more complicated when a sinister yet charming cult leader arrives at the El Royale, determined to get what's his.
