About the title
August 1944. The dense forests of Western Belarus. Sredizemye, a recently liberated territory — a special zone where enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups, left behind in the Soviet rear, are operating. Soviet troops are crossing the state border; the war is turning back. A stab in the back could stop the advancing army. Only SMERSH counterintelligence officers can prevent the attack.
