About the title
The mid-21st century. Due to global warming, the planet's climate has become unpredictable. People create a new generation of robots capable of helping them survive. Although natural resources are dwindling, high technology develops at a rapid pace. Cyborgs live side by side with humans and assist them in every field of activity. Then science presents humanity with another surprise — a miracle robot of an entirely different order is created: one with intelligence, a nervous system, capable of experiencing all human emotions and, most importantly, of loving. This is a true gift for married couples who cannot have children. The creation is named David. The cybernetic boy, outwardly indistinguishable from a living child, is placed with the family of scientists Henry and Monica, who took part in the project, and becomes their son. But are his new parents ready for all the consequences of such a risky experiment? The film is based on Brian Aldiss's short story 'Supertoys Last All Summer Long'.
