About the title
Hidden from prying eyes deep beneath the Earth's crust lies an entire world populated by gnomes, elves, pixies, leprechauns, brownies, and other magical creatures. They have hidden from humans and created their own civilization. Their secret would have remained undiscovered if not for young Artemis Fowl — a born con artist and the sole heir to an ancient line of criminal masterminds. He managed not only to find proof of the underground world's existence but also to devise a daring plan to rob its inhabitants.
