About the title
Ben (Glen Powell) and Bea (Sydney Sweeney) meet by chance in a coffee shop; one thing leads to another, their acquaintance turns into a date, and the date turns into a night spent together. What more could you need for happiness? But at the worst possible moment, the main characters' hang-ups and prejudices get the better of them, and their sudden spark of attraction fizzles out under a wave of fears. Six months later, Ben and Bea meet again, this time at the wedding of mutual friends. Not a trace of their former attraction remains — now they simply hate each other, and manage to spoil the festive mood along the way. In an attempt to save the event from disaster, the guests, friends, and even the couple's parents decide to help them fall in love again.
