About the title
A film adaptation of Anton Chekhov's novella "The Duel." The action takes place in a small town on the Black Sea coast, where under the scorching summer sun enmity ripens between two men. They have nothing to fight over, but one man's quiet contempt and the other's heavy apathy, indifferent to everything in life, bring the characters to a dangerous line, beyond which an absurd tragedy may follow.
