About the title
Biology professor Lena has spent a year grieving the loss of her military husband. Kane went on another secret mission and never returned — alive or dead, the woman doesn't know — until one day her disoriented, unnervingly pale husband suddenly appears in the doorway of their bedroom. The joy is short-lived — the man begins having seizures and multiple hemorrhages, and on the way to the hospital the ambulance is stopped by the military. Lena wakes up at a secret base near the very same mysterious zone that numerous expeditions have already entered, but it turns out only one person has ever returned — her Kane.
