About the series
Very simple stories that make up the first installment of the TV anthology. The segment directed by Spielberg is called "The Mission." After a fierce air battle with Nazi aces, the crew of an Allied bomber must sacrifice the life of one of the airmen, trapped in the gunner's turret, in order to save everyone else. A miracle comes to the rescue, bringing to life the dying drawing made by the doomed young man. In DeVito's segment, a wedding ring is given magical powers, turning a meek, aging dishwasher into a priestess of love.
