About the title
Forty years after Alexander's death, the elderly Ptolemy, one of Alexander the Great's closest companions who became governor of Egypt after his death, decides to tell and record the story of the great commander's victories. For eight years, Alexander the Great's army moved eastward, toward the shores of the world Ocean. Having conquered Western and Central Asia, Alexander was the first to set foot on the mysterious and enigmatic land of ancient India — something he had dreamed of since childhood, listening to the myths of Troy and the feats of Hercules and Achilles.
