About the title
Trying to win back Elaine, the flight attendant who left him, former military pilot Ted Striker, who suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, boards the passenger airliner Elaine is flying on. During the flight, it turns out that food poisoning has left the pilots unable to fly the plane. Ted Striker becomes the passengers' only hope of survival.
