About the series
In the novels of Agatha Christie, the queen of detective fiction, there appears a character named Ariadne Oliver — a mystery novelist with an untamed imagination and boundless faith in feminine intuition, a kind of self-ironic alter ego of Lady Agatha herself. Mrs. Oliver created her own character—a bearded detective, the vegetarian Finn Sven Hjerson—who has grown rather tiresome to the writer, but remains popular with readers and publishers, so she keeps writing about him. The series brings Sven Hjerson into the present day, portraying him as a once-successful and famous investigator who has since stepped out of the spotlight and lives a quiet life collecting vinyl records. And so it might have continued, had it not been for Clara Sandberg—a reality-show producer whose career has stalled, who, in search of something new, decides to pitch a new TV show starring Hjerson. All this despite the fact that she herself has never even met Sven before.
