About the series
The three Baudelaire children — Violet, Klaus, and Sunny — become orphans after a terrible fire and are placed in the care of Count Olaf, who wants nothing more than to seize the children's inheritance. The children try every way they can to explain to everyone around them that Count Olaf is not just a bad guardian, but is also trying to kill them to get rich; naturally, no one listens to the children. And it is only because of the adults' misunderstanding that the orphans end up in a series of misadventures.
