About the series
A racially mixed boomtown at the turn of the century, full of fresh fortunes and cunning politicians. The protagonist is Charlie Croker, once a college football star, now the king of an Atlanta conglomerate whose outsized ego is finally colliding with reality. Charlie has 29,000 acres of quail plantation, a young and demanding second wife, and a half-empty office complex burdened with enormous debt.
