About the title
Sam is determined to escape her stepmother's house after graduating high school and go on to study at Princeton University. But it's hard to say whether her wish will come true, since her stepmother Fiona and her two glamorous stepsisters keep her day packed with chores. Even though the girl manages to get through all the housework, she also works part-time at a café, saving up money. To brighten up her monotonous life, Sam chats online with a boy from her school — a rising football star who's nearly impossible to get close to, always surrounded by a crowd of girls. But one day, at a masquerade ball, Sam puts on a mask, and now she can easily talk to the boy who doesn't recognize her.
