About the title
A boy named Sailboat lives in a small house in the middle of the desert on the border with Texas, together with his parents. His father José dreams of horses and revolvers, but is forced to keep watch over the "stick" — a wooden support painted in the colors of the Mexican flag that keeps their house from collapsing.
