About the title
For 28 years, Great Britain has been ravaged by a monstrous epidemic that turns infected people into mad, bloodthirsty zombies. Among the survivors in this shattered post-apocalyptic world, several separate communities have formed, in one of which lives a boy trying to find a doctor for his dying mother. Together they set off on a risky journey through the north of England, as beautiful as it is dangerous — the surrounding forests are swarming with the infected.
