About the title
The story is set during the Great Depression in the US, and the central figure is Harvey Nual Russell, a new math teacher who becomes a true miracle-worker for the boys of the "Masonic Home and School of Texas," a school for widows and orphans. He himself had a difficult childhood — left without parents, he was raised in orphanages and knows firsthand what it means to be an orphan. At the school, Harvey becomes the coach of the boys' American football team. He always considered the game useful for developing teenagers' communication skills, since it taught teamwork, discipline, and unity as key elements of survival.
