About the title
At the rehabilitation center in the village of Bastau, Talgat meets Aliya, an intern. He falls in love with her but can't tell her, afraid she'll reject him. Two other patients — Dastan, who has diabetes, and Nartai, who is colorblind — are moved into Talgat's ward, and he quickly finds common ground with them. One day Aliya leaves for Almaty without ever learning of Talgat's feelings. His friends support him and suggest going after her. They persuade an elderly guard named Sharip to drive them to Almaty in his old car. It turns out each of them has their own reason for going to Almaty.
