About the title
Patrick, a modest worker and staunch defender of workers' rights, wakes up one morning to learn that he has inherited 100 million euros. But instead of joy at the money falling into his lap, he feels only the weight pressing down on him: his friends at work say "You're not one of us anymore!", his wife accuses him of greed, and his children refuse his riches. Even Patrick himself finds his new wealthy life a burden — on one hand, long-awaited opportunities, on the other, the habit of stashing everything in a safe and a mania for saving. Patrick will have to overcome a money crisis, a series of society small talk, avocado and oysters for lunch, buying an unnecessary mansion and an electric car, in order to keep his friends and family.
